The Yolk is a newspaper with an eggy twist. It was born as the stealth campaign for a graduation catalogue. Now, it lives on as a platform for creative student spotlights and has evolved to connect designers to the broader community in Enschede, NL.

The Yolk is as random as a TikTok for-you page, but it embraces the physicality of the dying medium of print.
The publication is entirely handmade: from writing to assemblage, the Mother Hens take care of every step of the process, mastering riso- and screen printing techniques. Not one Yolk is printed in the same shade of orange because not one yolk is the same.
The layouts and type stay playful, while the logo is the simplest form of all: the circle. The experimental quality of the production developed with the team’s confidence.
